CBI Initiates Case Against Bipin Batra for Alleged Unlawful Occupation of Top Position at NBEMS

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated a case against Bipin Batra on allegations of unlawfully holding the position of Additional Director at the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). NBEMS is responsible for establishing standards for post-graduate medical examinations in India. The case stems from a complaint filed by NBEMS, asserting that Batra managed to attain the top position within seven years, despite being ineligible for both the initial appointment and subsequent promotions.
The complaint also claimed that a substantial portion of NBEMS records had gone missing under mysterious circumstances and were likely removed deliberately. An investigation revealed that Dr. Bipin Batra was responsible for the mass removal of official records from NBEMS and was found guilty of multiple charges. As a result, his employment was terminated on August 23, 2019. Out of the 15 charges against him, 10 were proven, and three were partially substantiated. The complaint also highlighted concerns about the misuse of power by several individuals within NBEMS, which had seriously harmed the organization’s reputation and resulted in financial losses.
