The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced that counselling for both medical and non-medical courses will be conducted simultaneously. This decision was made in a board meeting attended by Higher Education Minister Dr. M C Sudhakar and Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil.
Timing of Counselling Sessions
The counselling sessions are scheduled to begin in the second week of August, following the start of the National Medical Commission (NMC)’s first round of counselling. The NMC has announced that its counselling for medical courses will commence on August 14. KEA Executive Director Prasanna stated, “We will resume counselling for all courses three days after NMC starts its first round.”
Current Status of Non-Medical Course Counselling
For non-medical courses, KEA has already started the option entry process, with only the allotment remaining. The KEA is currently awaiting the announcement of the seat matrix and rankings for Karnataka candidates to proceed further. Prasanna mentioned, “Once we receive it, we will start the process.
